I stumbled upon a post discussing a 2nd Annual Kindness Challenge. I was intrigued. It turns out, this Challenge reflected some of the reasons why I wanted to start this blog. For the next seven weeks, bloggers will be posting about different aspects of kindness:
- Week 1 | Self-love
- Week 2 | Self-compassion
- Week 3 | Self-acceptance
- Week 4 | Kindness role model
- Week 5 | Choosing kindness
- Week 6 | Kindness without expectation
- Week 7 | Grateful for kindness
Before the challenge begins next week, we were asked to post about why we chose to participate and what we hope to get out of it. I thought this challenge really spoke to me. I had posted in the past about my aspiration to really be selfless and help others. This opportunity really fit in perfectly.
I want to lead a more positive life, and set a good example for my son. I’d like to help others who have been through experiences similar to mine, and maybe give some insight to those who haven’t had them. I’d like to connect with others to expand my own beliefs and thought processes, and be more accepting instead of judgemental. I’d like kindness to be my initial and automatic reaction, instead of caution and hesitation. I’d want others to be inspired and do the same.
I already have had a small taste of what this all means through my interactions with other Postpartum moms. I like the solidarity and support that pure kindness and good intentions brings. What if, we were just a little more kind to everyone? I would think that we’d all be a little happier and less stressed. After all, a simple smile can change a situation. What could more outright action do?
I’m looking forward to the challenge! Interested in joining? Sign up here! I’m looking forward to my first post next week!
